Empowering Women Against Poverty- Tapping the Knowledge of Grassroots Women

This publication discusses the fact that although some men and women understand why they are poor, they lack practical means and knowledge of how to eradicate it. Using the available resources, Isis-WICCE has been facilitating dialogues between men and women on how they can address factors that cause poverty in their homesteads and communities. The visit to Nyakibigi and Kishami parishes to sensitise the communities on this aspect was proceeded by a similar sensitisation programme in Luweero district. The programme aimed at supporting women leaders in Luweero district to fight poverty. The results of the audit based on ensuring that people at the grassroots need to be well informed and knowledgeable about causes of poverty in their community and how to eradicate it were published; “Women’s Contribution to Poverty Eradication: The Missing Link
