EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Sandra Adong Oder

Sandra Adong Oder is the Executive Director at the Women’s International Peace Centre. Her pivotal role is to provide leadership for institutional governance, oversee the implementation of global and continental peacebuilding initiatives, and develop policies aimed at igniting women’s leadership, amplifying voices, and deepening their activism in (re)creating peace.

Additionally, she leads advocacy, networking, and resource mobilisation efforts, manages donor relationships, and ensures effective financial and human resource management. Sandra also works closely with the Board to advance the organisation’s mission and vision.

 Her unwavering belief in the power of transformational change is not just a belief but a driving force that inspires her to engage with beneficiaries, practitioners, and policymakers to determine effective strategies for placing women and young girls at the forefront of peace, security, and development. 

Sandra has a Master of Arts from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, an advanced post-graduate diploma on Engendering Development Policy, Projects and Organisation’s from the Institute of Development Policy and Management, University of Antwerp, an Advanced Diploma in Conflict Resolution from the Department of Peace and Conflict Research, Uppsala University, a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda, and a Bachelor of Arts (Political Science, International Relations and International Law, French and German) from Makerere University Kampala, Uganda, has significantly shaped her expertise and career in gender-responsive peacebuilding.
