This report presents the key outcomes of the Regional Learning and Networking Exchange of 2024 held in Lusaka, Zambia, in partnership with the AU-ECOSOCC , bringing together participants from across Africa, including Botswana, Burundi, the DRC, Malawi, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Uganda, and Zambia. The event was organized to strengthen the contribution of civil society to peace and security initiatives on the continent, with a focus on the central role of women and youth in inclusive governance and decision-making processes related to peace.

The report highlights good practices, gaps in civil society participation, and proposed strategies to overcome these challenges. It emphasizes the importance of strong partnerships between civil society and AU-ECOSOCC and concludes with recommendations and an action plan aimed at enhancing civil society engagement, supporting women’s and youth leadership, and ensuring a sustainable impact on peace and security in Africa.
