SARAH ABEJA
Sarah Abeja is the country coordinator for the Peace Centre South Sudan programme.
Sarah is also a member of the board representing women groups at the Ceasefire & Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring & Verification Mechanism (CTSAMVM), a multinational body that monitors compliance with the South Sudan peace agreement signed in 2018
She is a passionate women’ rights activist who has served in humanitarian aid assistance work with UN, International and national NGOs that include; UNAIDS south Sudan Office, Medicine Sans Frontiers, America refugee committee (ARC), south Sudan Women Empowerment network, Action Africa Help International (AAH-I) , among others.
As a women’s activist, Sarah is part of several south Sudanese women advocacy forums such as Coalition on the ratification of Maputo protocol in south Sudan (CORPSS), Women monthly forum on peace process, South Sudan Women coalition on peace process (SSWCP), a member of the south Sudan women Mediators and the CSOs national alliance on security
Sarah is an Electrical Engineer who also holds a Master of Art in Human rights and Local Governance
